South Padre has gentle surf that is easy to ride. Riders on the Island usually surf at the South end of the Island at the Isla Blanca Park beach. If you are an experience rider but don't feel like bringing your board there are many places that sell, as well as rent all types of boards. If it's your first time, lessons are available all year round. The term longboarding refers to the long style surfboards that are favored by small wave surfers. These boards are easy to paddle and make riding waves possible for beginners as well as advanced riders. Surfing lessons offer all levels of surfing instruction. From beginner lessons, to advanced surfing is available. Surfing instructors supply all the equipment and a variety of sizes to accommodate different people sizes.
