Call them what you want SeaDoos, Waverunners, Jet Skis, or PWCs, (personal water craft) the best place to ride them is right here on sunny South Padre Island . In the surrounding waters there are two completely different ride areas. The bay, which is a nice smooth ride, with a water temperature of about 87 degrees during the summer months and about 65 degrees during the winter. The entire bay north of the causeway is only four and a half feet deep during high tide. If you happen to fall off, STAND UP! If a thirill ride is what your looking for, take the PWC around the south jetties and around to the gulf side. During the summer months the surf has a slow to moderate chop. Seas average 2-3 feet. Everyone who rides should be experienced and cautious when riding. You can really get some air when jumping over waves. If you don't have a PWC of your own, don't worry!
