Every Friday night South Padre knows how to start the weekend right! During the summer months(June-August), the night sky over the bay is lit up with the bright sparkling lights of fireworks in the air. This coming year will be the largest and most complex firework displays ever. Firework shells up to ten inches in diameter will fire up to 1500 feet in the air. Fridays, at 9:15, between the streets of Marlin and Red Snapper, the Islands pyro technicians ignite the barge out on the water and for about fifteen minutes the sky is luminated with bright and colorful firework lights. You can see the fireworks from almost anywhere on the island. The best place to see them with great unobstructed views is right along the sea wall in the entertainment district area of SPI. Another great way to view the fireworks is on a boat cruise. There are many party boats on South Padre that anchor right in front of the display. For about an hour and a half these boats cruise the Island and play great music while people on board sip on their favorite cocktails and have the time of their life. Make sure to bring your favorite beverages onboard and don't forget your camera! If you want your cruise to be a little more private, you can book a private charter boat to take you where the action is with an experienced captain. Plan and book your firework cruise with Exploresouthpadreisland .com and receive great deals and discounts. |

| Watercraft: All spectator vessels in the BAY must stay clear of the firework barge and away from downwind. Every restaurants and bar in the entertainment district are great places to sit and watch the display at 9:15. Make sure to come out early to get your spot. |
