Treasure hunting is loved by many. Everyday lots of debris come ashore from the entire Gulf of Mexico . Up on the North end of the island is a great place to comb the beach and find treasures of your own. Debris that have washed ashore hundreds and even thousands of years ago still lies on the dunes of South Padre. Treasure hunters usually use metal detectors to help aid there searches. Walking along the beach with your own metal detector searching for coins is a great exercise and fun many ways. You never know what you will find.
